Update 6/18/09

Keith

We had the second fitting at Georgia Fair on the Memorial Day weekend, and it too went splendidly. This is Keith in his almost finished slops, and his new doublet mock-up.

UPDATE: 4/12/09

Lady Barker

After a fun-filled weekend at Scarborough, I got together with Keith and Shirley for their very first fitting which went great! This is Shirley in her new french hood that I made for her as a surprise. Tricksey. There are a few more photos in the Barker Flickr set.

It has been Winter, and of course that means it is time to work on the Elizabethan costuming. This time for Keith and Shirley Barker from St. Louis, MO. They will be coming down to Scarby for their first fitting, so I working, working, WORKING, on their pieces in preparation. You can visit the dress journal so far here at Barker Beautification, or just see their images at the Flickr set, Barker.

I am still working on these pieces, and the ensuing outfits, so check for updates…just not regularly. *grin*

My go at a fashion plate1877 Fashion Plate

So I have been trying for the last couple of days to get completely caught up on all my blogs. With this post Waisted Efforts is done!

There have been new journals added for Kat Peasley and one for my new dress. Also I have updated Sharon Thompson’s Dress, and also her hat journals. I have added pictures to Denise’s dress journal, and I also added a couple of pictures of me in the charcoal dress made for Melanie’s wedding.

Thank you for putting up with the long absences, and I hope you enjoy the new additions.

Bonnet with lots of plummageFrench Bonnet

I felt like doing something completely different. Thus, we have Sharon’s new hat base. It is a French Bonnet, and it’s little diary is here. I will of course decorate it once the dress is finished, but this is a great head start. I tried it on near the end, and I must say, I almost made another immediately! It is crazy, but so cute I can hardly stand it! I cannot wait to put frills, or flowers, or some other trimming in the peak.

Woo hoo! This was fun…tedious in the extreme, but FUN!

cheers

New Ballgown

In an addition here is the page for Denise’s new undies, and ballgown.

The funny part is that I after I wrote it, it occurred to me that she is not even wearing the ballgown over the new undies. LOL

Enjoy. Going back to work. I would like to finish the DinnerTop today.

Giesen sketches

The start of something fantastic, is the sketches. I am currently fevorishly working on a whole new suite of Elizabethan Goodies for Larry Giesen. He is a good friend in Wisconsin, and wants a new set of breathe-taking garments to wow the Bristol crowd. Well Scarborough will actually be their debut, since he is visiting second weekend. I will be putting together this diary as well, but here is a link to the pictures so far. Larry

Here is the culmination of all our work on Melanie’s dress; the wedding day. Here is a little montage of wedding photos. I was stupid enough to not actually bring my own camera, so a great many thanks go to Kyle and MB for these images. Here is the link to the rest of the images. I will also update the dress diary.

Shiney New Hotness!

Posted in Costumery on March 3, 2008 by Kelly

Today MB and I went to Melanie’s house to deliver, and do a final fitting of the completed dress. Of course, we took along all that we made need for final adjustments, hooks & eyes, needle & thread, etc. Just to gloat a little, none of those items were needed. Everything fit perfectly, and looks great. She is going to shine like a star if we are lucky enough for sunshine. :) If you are interested in the process, visit the diary.
